Gambling News
15 Mar 2025Loto-Québec has reported growth in total revenues and net income, as stated in its Q3 fiscal year 2024-2025 report issued yesterday.
5.1% Increase in Overall Revenues
In more detail, the crown corporation reported total revenues of CAD$734.2 million in the third quarter (from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2024), reflecting a 5.1% increase (CAD$35.5 million) compared to Q3 FY 2023-24, along with a net income of CAD$360.5 million, which marks a 6.3% rise (CAD$21.3 million) year-over-year.
"Loto- Quebec remains on track, with very good financial results that surpass last year’s,” said President and CEO Jean-Francois Bergeron. “This strong performance moves us closer to achieving our annual net income target. We’re very proud of it, especially since it ultimately benefits all of Quebec.”
In total, from April 1 to Dec. 31, 2024, the crown corporation announces total revenues of CAD$2.23 billion (an increase of CAD$127 million year-over-year, or 6%) and net income of CAD$1.13 billion (a rise of CAD$55.8 million, or 5.2%).
Canadian gaming: Casinos Set for Landmark Year
Based on sector results, from April 1 to December 30, 2024, revenues from the lottery product sector reached CAD$703.4 million, the casino and gaming hall sector generated CAD$906.8 million (set to achieve a record year, stated the crown corporation), and revenues from the gaming establishment sector totaled CAD$645.5 million.
Casino and gaming venues are the physical establishments managed by Loto-Québec. “Gaming establishments” denotes betting activities beyond the casinos – including sports wagering, video lottery machines in taverns, and bingo and Kinzo venues.
Gaming venues experienced a small decline in Q3 – total revenues were CAD$213 million, a decrease from CAD$218 million in Q3 FY 2023-24.
Bragg Deal to Boost Content
“Enthusiasm for our flagship product Célébration was at an all-time high, with ticket sales exceeding last year’s and a very exciting gala that brought people together,” Bergeron said in a statement. “Our casinos and gaming halls also shone brightly during the holidays, treating our customers to festive and unforgettable experiences. The lineup of activities was appealing, as the increase in traffic shows.”
"Responsible commercialization principles remained at the core of our priorities. We took advantage of the holiday season to roll out campaigns reminding our customers that lottery tickets are for adults only and raising their awareness about the risks of playing under the influence of alcohol.”
In February, Loto-Québec revealed a content agreement with Bragg Gaming to enhance its online casino offerings.
