In a reported incident, a man was apprehended for supposedly murdering his former wife's girlfriend and severely wounding his ex-wife in Las Vegas.
At approximately 4:45 p.m. on Friday, two women were shot while in a vehicle close to the intersection of Blanton and Sacks drives, in what officials suspect was a jealous act by the gunman.
The accused, named Adrian Rodriguez-Guillen, 41, reportedly approached the women's car.
He got out of his car and then reportedly shot the two women. The girlfriend of the ex-wife passed away at the location.
According to police, the ex-wife was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for her injuries and is anticipated to heal.
Following the gunfire, Rodriguez-Guillen contacted the police to report the incident. He remained at the location until the police showed up.
Rodriguez-Guillen is said to be facing charges of open murder and attempted murder. He was taken into custody on Friday at the Clark County Detention Center, where he is still incarcerated as of Sunday. Bail was not established. He showed up in court during the weekend.
If found guilty of the charges, he might confront several years behind bars.
Recently, three different minors were apprehended for murders in separate incidents.
On Friday, 16-year-old Arnaz Jones was apprehended for a murder in North Las Vegas that occurred the previous Sunday.
The fatal shooting took place in a residence on East Centennial Parkway.
The individual was recognized as Correy Dennis, 33 years old. He suffered a stomach injury and passed away shortly after.
Jones was pursued by police for most of last week and was characterized by officials as “armed and highly dangerous.”
Ultimately, he was found and captured. He was put in the Clark County Juvenile Detention Facility. Jones faced a charge of open murder.
On Monday, a 12-year-old girl was present in juvenile court for supposedly fatally stabbing her father at a home on Mercury Street in North Las Vegas on December 27. She was also accused of open murder. The individual was recognized as James Waldie, 55 years old.
A GoFundMe page reported that he had been “fighting stage four cancer for the past four years.”
"We never believed that she would be capable of such a horrific crime,” a relative said on the fundraising website.
Furthermore, a 15-year-old boy from Las Vegas was present in juvenile court on Monday. He was also accused of murder for reportedly shooting his father to death at a residence in Tampa Court.
The man was recognized as Jeremy Peterson, age 45. Police reported that the two had a dispute that also included other family members.
On Thursday, a man was killed by gunfire near train tracks close to West Owens Avenue and Stocker Street in Las Vegas.
The victim has not been publicly named, and the shooter is still unidentified.
Besides these killings, the LVMPD was instrumental in probing the blast outside the Trump International Hotel on New Year’s Day. The suspect inflicted a gunshot wound on himself and passed away. Seven additional individuals sustained minor injuries.
